Patrick Edward McCaughey, III

McCaughey allegedly used a police riot shield to push an Officer Hodges, pinning him near the Lower West Terrace Door. Eyewitness accounts state there were unarmed protesters who were trapped in this area and being beaten by police.

Patrick McCaughey said to the officer, “Don’t try to use that stick on me. I am not hurting you.” He later said, “let go of the stick, man,” referring again to the officer’s baton.

Please keep in mind that in the United States, every citizen charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
