Devlyn Thompson

Thompson allegedly assaulted law enforcement with a baton at an entrance to the Capitol. He and others were trying to move past the officers. They called them “traitors” and yelled “We need more patriots;” urging more volunteers to help them clear their way through.

Assaulting, Resisting or Impeding Certain Officers Using a Dangerous Weapon (1)

Case Status

Charged via criminal information 7/11/21. Plea agreement hearing held 8/6/21. Pleaded guilty to count one (above). Sentencing was re-scheduled for 12/20/21; committed to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons for a term of 46 months with credit for time served on Count 1. Further sentenced to serve 36 months of supervised release and to pay a $100 special assessment and $2,000 in restitution. A motion for compassionate released was filed on 12/7/22 and is still being worked through in court.
