Shawn Bradley Witzemann

Although he is seen inside the capitol, there was no information in the Statements of Facts that showed Shawn’s entry into the Capitol was “violent”. He attended the event as a journalist.

Please keep in mind that in the United States, every citizen charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds Parading, Demonstrating or Picketing in a Capitol Building

Case Status

Arrested 4/6/21. Detention hearing held 4/15/21, was placed on personal recognizance bond. Entered a plea of not guilty to all counts on 6/17/22. Entered a plea of guilty as to Count 4s on 7/21/22. Sentencing set for 11/4/2022 at 10:00 AM via Zoom before Judge Thomas F. Hogan. Remains on personal recognizance.
