Shawn Bradley Witzemann

Although he is seen inside the capitol, there was no information in the Statements of Facts that showed Shawn’s entry into the Capitol was “violent”. He attended the event as a journalist.

Case Status

Arrested 4/6/21. Detention hearing held 4/15/21, was placed on personal recognizance bond. Entered a plea of not guilty to all counts on 6/17/22. Entered a plea of guilty as to Count 4s on 7/21/22. Sentencing held on 1/12/2023, sentenced to 24 Months of Probation. Special Assessment in the amount of $10. Restitution in the amount of $500. Government's oral motion to dismiss all remaining counts; heard and granted.
