Hutchinson helped his friend Jonathan Pollock, who fell to the ground after being wrestled by police. He and Pollock push the fence, helping protesters break the police line.
Later, Hutchinson falls behind Pollock and helps him recover again after he is attacked by another officer while moving through the crowd.

On 7/28, Hutchinson plead not guilty to all counts. On 4/6/23, he failed to appear in court for a status conference. It was rescheduled to video on 5/19/23, and he also did not appear. Then on 8/7/23, the case was called for jury trial. It did not take place because Hutchinson did not appear a third time.
