Edward Hemenway II

Hemenway and a friend admitted entering the Capitol when questioned by police. Hemenway was unaware altercations between police and protesters were happening at the time. He wasn’t planning on attending the event and did so at the last minute.
He chanted, took pictures, and left.

Case Status

Hemenway was arrested on 1/15/21. On 1/21/21 he was released on personal recognizance. During an arraignment on 2/12, he plead not guilty to counts 1-4. On 6/28/21 during a plea agreement, he plead guilty to count 4. On 10/13/21, Hemenway was sentenced to 45 days in prison, 60 hours of community service, a special assessment of $10.00, and restitution in the amount of $500.00. Oral motion by government to dismiss remaining counts; heard and granted.
