A video shows Evans on the Capitol steps with a megaphone. He said: “I don’t support looting, I don’t support the violence, I support a peaceful protest to put them on notice that we the people demand justice.”
When he entered the building, he acted in accordance with these words. There is no evidence he engaged in violent activity.
