Fairchild allegedly grabbed the security gate and attempted to break through the police line. He encouraged others in the crowd to move the barrier also. Once inside, he walked along with the crowd and was filming.

On 5/11/22, he entered a plea of guilty as to count 1s. Sentencing set for 10/20/2022 at 3:30 PM via Zoom before Judge Thomas F. Hogan.
