Nicholas Languerand

Languerand is pictured throwing stick like objects and a traffic barrier at U.S Capitol Police just outside of the Capitol Building.  He is also seen holding a Capitol Police riot shield, however he is holding it up in a protective manner as a big flash (coming from USCP) is also seen in the picture.  There is no further detail of any violence committed by Languerand.

Assaulting, Resisting or Impeding an Officer Using a Dangerous Weapon (1) Civil Disorders, Aiding and Abetting (2) Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority Using a Dangerous Weapon (3) Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds (4)

Case Status

Arrested 4/15/21. Indicted 5/12/21. Ordered detained pre-trial. Initial appearance and arraignment held 5/24/21- plead not guilty to all charges. Languerand plead guilty to count 2 on 11/3/21. He was sentenced on 1/26/22 to 44 months of incarceration followed by 24 months of supervised release, a special assessment of $100, and restitution in the amount of $2,000. Oral by government to dismissed remaining counts was granted.
