Purse was wearing “Press” labels despite not being believed to have any real credentials. He entered the Capitol around 2:59 P.M., about 30 minutes after the initial breach. He walked around the Capitol and can be seen recording the events. At 3:12 P.M., Purse exited the Capitol building. He was not charged with any violence nor does his Statement of Facts detail any violence.

In May 2023, Purse filed a motion to dismiss the case- opposition to the motion was filed by USA on 5/15/23. No decision has been administered as of 6/19/23, and the next court action is unknown.
