Mark K. Ponder

Mark Ponder is pictured swinging a pole at USCP.  He struck an officer on the left shoulder.  Ponder was tackled by Capitol Police shortly thereafter.  It is not clear if he entered the Capitol building.

Case Status

Arrested on 03/17/2021. Ponder was indicted on 3/26/21 in the District of Columbia. Ponder pleaded not guilty to counts 1-12 on 3/31/21. On 4/22/22, Ponder plead guilty to count 1. On 7/26/22, he was sentenced to 63 months of incarceration, 36 months of supervised release;, a special assessment of $100 and restitution in the amount of $2,000 dollars.
