The government alleges Hackett was part of Signal chat threads and a GoToMeeting call with ‘Oathkeepers’ founder Stewart Rhodes and others. They claim he was working with those in this group to transport firearms to the DC area for use on Jan. 6th.
On Jan. 6th, Hackett and 4 others allegedly walked into the Capitol, placing their hands on each others’ backs in a stack formula. After exiting the Capitol, he and the group allegedly gathered outside the Capitol with Rhodes.

Case Status
Hackett was indicted in this new case on 1/12/22. During an arraignment on 1/25, he plead not guilty to all counts. Superseding indictment issued 6/22/22. On 6/24, he plead not guilty to all charges again. Jury selection began 12/6. Trial resumes 1/3/23 at 9 30 am in Courtroom 10. He remains released on personal recognizance.
