James Burton Mcgrew

McGrew supposedly yelled statements at police, such as “We’re coming in here whether you like it or not” and “Fight with us, not against us.” He held up a phone to record the names and badge numbers of officers.

McGrew is accused of striking an officer and attempting to take his baton.

Case Status

McGrew was arrested on 5/28/21 and appeared in court initially on 6/1/21. He pleaded not guilty to all accounts on 06/26/21 and on 11/2/21. On 5/13/22, he plead guilty to count 1. Sentencing is scheduled for 8/9 at 1 30 pm in Courtroom 22A, DC District Court.
