Landon Mitchell and codefendant Bender entered the Capitol. They walked through the Rotunda and visited the Senate Chamber along with others in the crowd. They remained inside of the Senate chamber for approximately 5 minutes, taking pictures. Mitchell allegedly picked up a document on one of the desks and began looking at it.

Mitchell was arrested on 10/20/21. Indicted 12/8/21. His case was consolidated with 21-cr-00508 on 5/24/22. On 12/7/22, he was found guilty of all counts during a stipulated trial with Judge Howell. On 1/27/23, he was ordered to home detention due to a pretrial violation. These conditions were modified on 3/7/23 to allow him to walk outdoors for 20 minutes a day. On 4/20/24, Mitchell was sentenced to 27 months in prison and 3 years of probation. He was ordered to pay a special assessment of $180 and $2,000 restitution.
