Michael Eckerman

Eckerman appeared in social media photos and is also shown on Capitol surveillance.

He was yelling at officers along with the crowd as they pushed their way into the building. He doesn’t appear to have engaged in any violent activity.

Case Status

Eckerman was arrested on 9/20/21. He initially appeared in court and was released on personal recognizance on 9/24/21. On 11/18/22, he plead guilty to count 2. Sentencing held on 3/8/22, he was ordered committed to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons for a term of 20 months with credit for 1 day. He was further sentenced to serve a term of 24 months (2 years) of supervised release and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $2,000 in restitution. Government's oral motion to dismiss the remaining counts was granted.
