Eric Gavelek Munchel

Munchel entered the Capitol with a cell phone attached to his chest. He is pictured next to a mob of people who attacked two police officers and pursued them. Munchel admits to having a taser with him that day for self-protection. He accompanied his mother, Lisa Eisenhart. She wanted to attend President Trump’s rally and be part of the events of that day despite having an injured shoulder.

Case Status

Munchel was arrested on 1/10/21 and Initially appeared in court on 1/12/21. During an arraignment on 2/17/21, he pleaded not guilty. Conditions of release were set on 03/29/21. His jury trial starts on 4/11 at 10 am in Courtroom 15.
