Christopher Ray Grider

A Waco media station interviewed Grider, who admitted being inside the building near Ashli Babbitt, a woman who was shot outside the speaker’s lobby. Grider allegedly attempted to open the House Chamber doors and stopped after hearing the gunshot which killed her.

Grider was arrested on 1/21. He pleaded not guilty to counts 1-7 on 2/22/2021. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson ordered the release of Mr. Grider on conditions of release on February 22, 2021 (Per #81: Unopposed MOTION to Travel by CHRISTOPHER RAY GRIDER.) On 04/08/2022, Grider waived his right to a speedy trial. Status Conference is rescheduled for 6/2/2022 at 11:00 AM via Telephonic/VTC before Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly.
