Brodnax told police he traveled to DC prior to January 6th to shoot a music video. While he was there, he noticed a rally downtown and followed the crowd inside the Capitol. He took photos inside and asked others to take pictures of him. However-according to a government affidavit-he stole nothing from inside the building. He did not engage in violent activity.

Brodnax was arrested on 3/11/2021 and appeared for the first time in court on 3/17. Conditions of release set for 3/17/2021. He was charged via criminal information 5/11. On 5/20, he plead not guilty to counts 1-4. The next status conference takes place on 10/14/21 at 2pm. Plea Hearing held on 10/22/2021. He entered a plea of guilty to Counts 1,2,3 and 4 of the information on 10/22/21. Sentencing held on 12/19/2022, sentenced to 5 months of imprisonment (to run concurrently on each count), followed by 12 months of supervised release (which shall run concurrently as to counts 1 and 2 only).
