Another Midwest Storm- Another 160,000 Without Power in St. Louis

For the third time in 6 months a massive storm hit the St. Louis region… And, for the third time in 6 months over 160,000 lost power in the St. Louis region.

This is getting a little old…

Another ice storm hit the midwest this weekend and knocked out power in thousands of homes in the region:

(KSDK) — 133,000 Ameren customers are still without power tonight with more than 30,000 of those are in St. Charles County. And those numbers could climb as the weather continues to detoriate.

Prolonged winter weather will impact the region tonight. Areas of freezing rain will overspread the area with a large swath of moderate to heavy precipitation sweeping northeast.

For the second time in two months, iced over trees are causing power outages, leaving thousands cold and in the dark forcing Ameren crews on the scramble, working to restore power before the next wave of ice and wind.
