Damon Michael Beckley

Video footage shows Beckley was at the Capitol on January 6th. He made a grassroots video inside telling Vice President Pence he is upset about Ashli Babbitt’s death.

Another protester interrupts and asks about it. He explains she was killed “with a service weapon.” Beckley finishes creating the video, explaining his personal disgust with the “tyrannical rule” of elected officials.

Case Status

Beckley was arrested 1/16/21. Released on Personal Recognizance on 01/27/21. At an arraignment on 4/14, he pleaded not guilty to counts 1-4. On 10/14/22, Beckley entered a plea of not guilty as to all 6 counts of the superseding indictment (doc #42) issued 10/12/22. A Bench Trial took place on 2/23/23 at 2 PM in Courtroom 25A before Judge James E. Boasberg. Boasberg found Beckely guilty of counts 1 and 2. A motion for a new trial was submitted and denied on 7/14/23. On 2/9/24, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, along with 1 year of probation. He was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $2,000 in restitution,
